ink / gouache / chalk pastel on paper

We went hiking out to Dolly Sods, WV recently, a wilderness area that has a fascinating environment - it's nestled in the mountiains, but because of the unique topography, the area is a moisture-rich landscape filled with bogs, mosses, and all kinds of ferns. It's incredible. This piece was inspired by one of the more meadow-y areas of the hike. Since we visited in fall, Dolly Sods' plant textures really got to shine. This hillside was 'painted' in big swaths of grasses and perennials that each had their own amazing shade of ochre, rust, and red. An absolute dream for a landscape painter!

**This piece is being displayed for sale at The Lady Jane Shop in Harrisonburg VA, Nov 1 - Nov 28**

  • All original artwork sales are final. Prints may be returned or exchanged up to 7 days after delivery.

  • Whenever I can, I use sustainable shipping supplies. All flat mailers are 100% post consumer recycled and I often reuse packing materials. I've also switched my 8.5"x11" clear bags to a compostable material (for prints and small gouache paintings).

USPS is my go-to for shipping but if specified, I can arrange for other carriers.
